Luca Banchi explains the key to success against Fenerbahce

Seventh success in ten Euroleague games for Virtus Bologna, which reared its head again in the European arena after the previous round’s loss to Panathinaikos and beat Fenerbahce 87-79 in front of a friendly crowd. On the sidelines of the match, coach Luca Banchi offered his insights to explain the key to the success.

"We withstood a good first quarter of theirs,” said the Black Vu coach. For us è a big step forward in mentality and consistency of play, even with several absences everyone gave energy. We confirmed that we are able to compete in the Euroleague, this è important".

"Of course, some mistakes there've been,” he later specified counters, “but I really have a hard time blaming the guys for anything. On the rebound we did a great job, we sacrificed on defense as well, and we overcame the bewilderment of the first few minutes by getting the game back into our comfort zone thanks to the discipline of play".

Virtus sent four players into double figures: Shengelia (15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists), Hackett (14 points, 6 assists), Dobric (11 points, 5 rebounds) and Cacok (10 points, 7 rebounds). Unnecessary, on the other side, Mobley's 25 points and 8 rebounds.
