Charles Leclerc out of the teeth: ‘We deserve second place’
The words of Charles Leclerc after FP2 of the Abu Dhabi GP
After setting the best time in FP2 of the Abu Dhabi Gp, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc è expressed his confidence to the microphones of "Sky Sport F1" ahead of the continuation of the weekend.
"Fourth place in the drivers’ standings does not interest me, while second place among the constructors would be nice, I would like the team to finish ahead of Mercedes at the end of this weekend. It's been a tough season and everyone deserves it. They have worked like crazy to provide us with the updates. We deserve to finish second at the end of the year and we will give everything to hit that goal. For the drivers, I don't have much hope of finishing fourth: if it comes good, if not; I don't think about it" began the Monegasque.
"It's been a positive day, è a good way to start the weekend and I hope to do well in qualifying and the race as well. This Friday è it wasnè t easy, because I only did two laps in qualifying configuration, but the lap on soft è was good. Mercedes è was also strong. I don’t know what happened to them in FP2, they dropped compared to FP1, but I think we will all be very close this weekend" added the Ferrarista.
" It will be a challenging weekend, I think we will go into the race with the same information that we can have in a weekend with the Sprint format, maybe. And I think it will beà very interesting. We will try to take advantage as much as possible of the information that we have available to us. The focus will beà however, on ourselves, not on the rivals: let’s try to manage the tires as best we can from tomorrow" concluded Charles Leclerc.
