Milan’s domination in Istanbul in the sign of Paola Egonu

It ends with a great success the trip to Turkey for Vero Volleyball. Milan, in fact, on the third day of the women’s Champions League, came out on top with a clear 3-0 victory over the reigning champions of VakifBank Istanbul, with scores of 25-17 25-17 25-16.  Coach Marco Gaspari’s girls dominated the match far and wide, taking the lead right from the early stages and always keeping control of the pace of the game.

The absolute protagonist of the match was the former player Paola Egonu, who, thanks to her 20 points, led the Milanese team to success, finding an excellent understanding with the director Alessia Orro. In the ranks of the Turkish team, however, the performance of Brazilian Gabi was not enough, supported in attack by Thompson and Frantti.

With this success, Vero Volley Milano è moved to the first place in solitary with 9 points, putting the road downhill to obtain direct qualification to the quarterfinals, without having to go through the playoffs. On the fourth day of the Champions League group stage, Paola Egonu and her teammates will face the French Mulhouse, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Opiquad Arena.
