On the third day of the Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah Luca Nardi è won the Italian derby with Flavio Cobolli. The Pesaro player, in fact, è imposed himself in five sets with the scores of 3-4 4-2 4-3 1-4 4-3 putting in serious difficulty his compatriot, who to qualify must hope for a three-sets-to-zero success by the number one seed Arthur Fils over the Swiss Dominic Stricker. 

The first set è characterized by great equilibrium, with Cobolli managing to take advantage only in the tie-break, winning a minibreak and closing the partial at 7-4. The first setback for the 2002 class came in the final of the second set with Nardi taking immediate advantage to bring the score back to even.

The third partial set is once again resolved in the tie-break. However, compared to the first set, è the Pesaro native finding more rhythm and closing with an easy 7-1. The situation returns to parity in the fourth partial, as Cobolli takes advantage of the physical problems suffered by Nardi to close with an easy 4-1. The fifth and decisive set is once again decided at the tie-break, with the 2003 class, who, after canceling a match point on 2-3, manages to close the accounts on the score of 7-4.
