Benedetta Pilato won silver in the women’s 100 breaststroke at the European Short Tub Championships in Otopeni, Romaia, beaten only by Lithuania’s Eneli Jefimova (1'03"21). The 18-year-old from Taranto touched in 1'03"76, with a resounding passage to the 50 in 29"32 but a last contracted 25 in 17"89, for the fifth best performance ever swum in Italy at twenty-one hundredths from her record of 1'03"55. On the lowest step of the podium goes Dutchman Tes Schouten in 1'04"04.
