Magic heel in recovery, Muriel takes down Milan: 3-2 Atalanta
A whirlwind of emotions, and a victory that came in the midst of recovery.
Atalanta beats Milan in Bergamo, and tries to re-enter a Champions League race that is now è thicker than ever. The 3-2 win at the Gewiss Stadium is in fact consummated at 95' and allows the Nerazzurri to bring themselves momentarily just one point away from that fourth place occupied by Roma and Napoli. Luis Muriel was decisive, after Ademola Lookman’s two goals to which first Olivier Giroud and then Luka Jovic had answered.
The first half appears favorable to Atalanta, which però confirms the recent problems of finalization in spite of the chances created. Particularly eager to do well appears De Ketelaere, who però creates and squanders at least three sharp goal chances: particularly bad the second, in which he sends the ball to the stars when è only two meters from the goal line. To score è then Lookman, who at 38' clears a shot fouled by Tomori and beats Maignan. Milan però ended the first half on even terms, thanks to Giroud’s header off Florenzi’s corner after even three minutes of recovery.
The resumption, if possible è even more bursting: Giroud scares Atalanta right away, which forò then creates itself dangerous with Pasalic, Koopmeiners and Scalvini within a couple of minutes. Once again to score è però again Lookman at 55', this time well served by De Ketelaere. The Nerazzurri could close it out, but risked the second and final mockery when at 80'80; Jovic deposited into the net a venomous low shot from Pulisic. It seemed to be over, but at 95' Muriel came up with a resounding heel on an assist from Miranchuk and returned the Dea the pleasure of a championship victory.
