Inter will have to rely on luck ahead of the Champions League round of 16 draw after a 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad in the last Group D match. Despite attempts to up the tempo in the second half with substitutions, Simone Inzaghi's team could not get beyond the balance and the result remained unchanged.
Although Inter collected the most dangerous actions, the Spanish team won the first place in the group, leaving the Nerazzurri in second. The Nerazzurri therefore, all that remains is to wait for the draw for the round of 16 with the hope of a favorable outcome.
Napoli, on the other hand, needed a victory to overcome recent defeats and face the Champions League round of 16 with greater serenity. The Azzurri did their task effectively, defeating Sporting Braga 2-0, although the opponent’s goalkeeper avoided a bigger loss thanks to numerous saves.
Saatçı’s (9') own goal opened the scoring, followed by Osimhen’s (33') winning conclusion. Napoli thus è placed second in Group C, behind Real Madrid who made it six out of six. On Wednesday, it will be Milan and Napoli's turn to play on the last day of the group stage.
