Jared Goldberg set the best time in the official training that opened the long week on the saslong slope, where two downhill runs are scheduled Thursday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 16, interspersed with a super-giant on Friday, Dec. 15. The American clocked a time of 2’02″19, with which he was 25 hundredths ahead of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, while Switzerland’s Stefan Rogentin recorded the third time at 37 hundredths.

The top ten è featured Dominik Paris with the ninth time. The Val d’Ultimo champion took advantage as usual of the day to refine his lines, as did Mattia Casse, 13th at 1″47. Just behind Florian Schieder with the 16th time at 1″80, while Guglielmo Bosca è 19th and Christof Innerhofer 27th at 2″88. Further behind Pietro Zazzi, Nicolò Molteni, Benjamin Alliod, Giovanni Borsotti and Giovanni Franzoni did not start. As a reminder, Italy can field up to eight athletes in the downhill and as many (plusù Schieder) in the super-giant.

Paris commented thus: "Not è bad, I found a different snow than usual, I had good feelings. The jumps are high and fun, I tried to be aggressive in the lake area, but I realized that I have to change tactics. I have to do better at Ciaslat, lì I lost lines and consequently time. I will focus on the video to figure out how best to perform. Kilde on this slope è always strong, here he did not win by chance three times downhill, this year can’be interesting becauseè with these snow conditions, others can also do well".

“As usual I go fast and then occasionally switch off, the’entry to Ciaslat like last year è was good, then a mistake maybe due to the carryover of snow on the slope slowed me down. The snowpack è good, we hope to start the season well, here everyone has the knife between the teeth, we have to gear up and go ahead”, said Casse instead.
