Red Bull, Max Verstappen has clear ideas ahead of 2024
After winning his third consecutive world title and dominating the season from start to finish, winning as many as 19 races out of 23 total, Max Verstappen, during the "5 live F1 review show" broadcast, bluntly expressed his expectations ahead of 2024 regarding the possible competitiveness of the other teams.
"Our rivals are not stupid. They are all learning, and the longer a regulation remains stable, the closer the grid will get, because it becomes clear to everyone which is the right path to take and develop at the technical and design level. Fortunately, we at Red Bull got off to a good start in 2022, but I expect that in 2024 the rivals will come closer in terms of performance" began the Dutch driver.
"I can’t exactly predict which team will be the closest, because if you take into account 2023 there have been too many ups and downs in the other teams. I can't imagine which stable will record the greatest increase in performance in the winter. Of course, I hope that it is not enough to catch up with us, but we will find out in Bahrain" added Max Verstappen.
In addition to the Dutch driver, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner also wanted to give his opinion ahead of next season to the microphones of "BBC": "I think we will see many cars that will have the same philosophy as the RB19. We got off to a better start than others with the new regulations that came in 2022, but also because of the sanction that limited the hours in the wind tunnel we had to be selective and sparing in our experiments ahead. Our development according to our engineers è arrived at a stage of diminishing returns" this is the thought of the British manager.
