Napoli, Leipzig makes official the arrival of Eljif Elmas
Official: Eljif Elmas è a new Leipzig player
The paths of Napoli and Eljif Elmas officially part. Leipzig, in fact, through a statement issued on its official channels, announced the purchase of the Macedonian midfielder for a sum around 25 million euros. The player will land in Germany as of January 1, 2024 and sign a contract until June 30, 2028.
"Eljif Elmas will move from SSC Napoli to RB Leipzig on Jan. 1, 2024. The 24-year-old will signà a long-term contract for four and a half years until June 2028 and will wear the number 6 shirt of the RBL in the future. The midfielder will then travel directly with the team to the La Manga retreat on Jan. 2" this is the statement issued by the German club.
The sale of the Macedonian footballer, in addition, had already been confirmed during an interview by Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentis: "Elmas è already been sold. He è one who wants to play all the time, but he has not understood that you è starters even if you don't play ninety minutes. Has he played little this year? Spalletti had two years to evaluate him carefully, while this season we had two coaches, who made different evaluations".
