Jannik Sinner, Darren Cahill expound on upcoming goals
Darren Cahill sheds light on Jannik Sinner’s next goals
The well-deserved break is coming to an end, and Jannik Sinner will already have to prove in Australia that he can handle ever-increasing pressure, especially after his splendid performances in the latter part of the season just ended. Speaking to the 'Corriere della Sera' it took his "supercoach", Darren Cahill, to clarify what the high-flying athlete's goals will be.
First, Cahill hopes that Sinner can "play a lot to win a lot, stabilizing at the top". "He"ll be at the four Slams,” he added, “the nine Masters 1000s, Davis and the Olympics. There’è not much leeway in scheduling, maybe details will change: for example he’ll play Madrid and not Barcelona. Not è excluded he also plays the 250s, they are useful to handle the pressure as a favorite".
"He is ready to win a Major, already in Australia,” Cahill went on to explain.
Jannik’s physique è a priority for the team: the base was already there thanks to the work with Piatti, he will put on more mass by proceeding in small steps. Ligaments, joints, bones must be protected. Now he trusts his body much more, has less pain, knows himself better".
Jannik Sinner will therefore try to make a name for himself in the first Slam of the season, in Australia: he boasts four appearances in Melbourne, with his best result being the quarterfinals of the 2022 edition, in which he succumbed in three sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas. In 2023 again the Greek had been his executioner, this time in five hard-fought sets.
