ATP Marseille: Lorenzo Musetti is already out
Lorenzo Musetti – Thomas Machac (3-6 2-6)
Lorenzo Musetti's path to the second round stops at the Marseille ATP 250. After a good showing against Marterer, the Carrara-based tennis player failed to repeat against Czech Tomas Machac, number 66 in the ATP rankings, who è imposed himself rather sharply with the score of 6-3 6-2 after an hour and 23 minutes of play.
In the first set to make the difference è the sixth game, in which Machac harpooned the break at the advantages and kept it until the final 6-3. Second set immediately went downhill for the Czech tennis player who found the break in the opening (1-0). Lorenzo’s reaction è was immediate (1-1) but è was short-lived with Machac who è immediately went back ahead (2-1) and nullified three consecutive break points in the fourth game, increasing the gap with his opponent and closing on 6-2 final.
The Azure must thus bid farewell to the French tournament, while Machac awaits in the quarterfinals the winner of the match between Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, the defending champion and number one seed, and Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko, number 56 in the world rankings.
