Andrey Rublev cashes in defeat with Daniil Medvedev: "Now I go less crazy"

The Nitto ATP Finals 2023 did not get off to the best start for Andrey Rublev, who suffered a heavy defeat against Daniil Medvedev, whom he has known since they were children and whose è daughter he is godfather to. "I felt that as soon as he started the exchange, although I played well and had my chances, he always managed to do something. I didn’t use my serve as well as he did, then I missed a few volley slaps in the first set that è turned out to be decisive" – lucidly explained Rublev.

An important passage of the conference è brought about by Andrey’s realization, aware now of how difficult it is to face Daniil. "The more I play with him the better I feel, I go less and less crazy compared to the first times we played against" explained the world No. 5. "After every match against him I accept more and more that Daniil always makes one more ball return to my court. In this match forò for him è it was all too easy".

Space finally for a perhaps undue, but nonetheless important clarification: "The relationship I have with Daniil off the court does not affect my performance against him in the slightest.  He simply now comes from one of the best seasons of his career and è difficult to beat for anyone" concluded Rublev.
