Salernitana, Kostas Manolas is one step away
Kostas Manolas ready to return to Serie A
After Jerome Boateng, the Salernitana è ready to place another blow to parameter zero: the distance between the Granata club and Kostas Manolas seems in fact now minimal so much so that, according to reports from the 'Corriere dello Sport' on Wednesday evening, it would only lack the signature of the contract to make it official.
The 32-year-old central defender, seen in Italy with the shirts of Roma and Napoli, should not, however, be available in the delicate match against Empoli on Sunday, a game that puts important points up for grabs in terms of salvation. His first match should therefore be on Friday, Feb. 16, away against Inter.
The agreement between the two parties, per the Roman newspaper, will last until June 30, with Manolas receiving €500,000 to which bonuses linked to appearances and performances will be added. Manolas will therefore return to Italy just over two years after his farewell to Napoli, after seven and a half seasons played in Serie A.
Raised in Thrasyvoulos, Manolas made his professional debut with the same club in the city of Fyli: he then wore the jerseys of AEK Athens (2009-2012), Olympiacos (2012-2014), Roma (2014-2019) and Napoli (2019-December 2021). He returned to Olympiacos in early 2022, è remained in the red and white until September, before moving to Sharjah (UAE). Last January 16, the termination.
