Roberta Bruni takes back the Italian indoor pole vault record
Knockout just days away in the women's pole vault. Roberta Bruni regained the Italian indoor record by reaching 4.65 at the meeting in Roubaix, France.
For the second time this year, the national indoor record for the specialty falls, two centimeters higher than Elisa Molinarolo’s 4.63, which in Stockholm on Feb. 3 improved Bruni’s 4.62 last winter.
The 29-year-old from the Carabinieri, who also holds the outdoor record with 4.73 in September 2023, finds the treble in a race that began without errors at the initial height of 4.32 and also at the measure of 4.51 already decisive for success.
Then she made three attempts at 4.75 with as many nulls, but she canè celebrate the new record and è the best way to approach the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Glasgow (March 1-3). In the last four outings she had jumped 4.53 twice continuing the season with 4.48 and 4.50 to show consistency of performance.
"Very happy to get into shape race after race – Roberta’s words – in these first months of work in Spain with coach Alexandre Navas in Pamplona. We are trying to find my jump and I am happy becauseé the road è the right one. I will be competing again in France on Feb. 22 in Clermont-Ferrand and on the 24th in Rouen, I hope to grow further and fingers crossed for the World Indoor".
