Milan, Cardinale makes an assist to Pioli: "I don’t fire for a change"

Important news for Milan coach Stefano Pioli. After months of silence, in the last few days the Rossoneri management has è loosened up on the future of the Emilian coach, who è returned to the side after the team’s latest positive results. After Scaroni and Furlani, this time it was president Gerry Cardinale who applauded Pioli in an interview with Corriere della Sera, sending clear messages ahead of next season. "Credit should be given for what he is doing", Cardinale said.

"We have changed so much and it takes time to create a cohesive team. However, we are growing, close to second place, and for that credit must be given to players, staff, coach", are the words of the American patron.

Milan has now mortgaged qualification for the next Champions League, the minimum goal this season, and is now aiming for European success. Cardinale spoke clearly about Pioli’s future: "He will be satisfied when we win the Champions League. But not being happy at a certain stage does not necessarily translate into firing the coach. I think Pioli is doing a good job in a situation that is not easy, with a very renewed team, I do not give in to the temptation to “fire” someone just to change something".

The scudetto remains a dream at the moment: "But  the championship è still long, anything can happen, let’s see. We have to improve in many things, with injuries for example. Everyone, starting with me, has to do a better job. But I will not quit; I will be here for a long time. Nobody wants to win more than me".
