Conegliano, big hit at home of European champions

Great challenge in Istanbul for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals between the reigning champions of Vakifbank and the Italian champions of A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano, just back less than 48 hours ago from the grueling Coppa Italia triumph in Trieste. Not even fatigue prevented the Panthers from unleashing their full force on Turkish soil, where Wolosz and her companions unceremoniously put the battleship-Vakifbank underneath.

Thursday, 29 the return match at Palaverde, after today’s result to advance to the semifinals the A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano will have to win by any result or lose 3-2 to qualify. In case of a 3-0 or 3-1 loss, the “Golden Set” tiebreaker will be played.
