The team principal of Ferrari Frederic Vasseur took stock of the first Formula 1 tests in Bahrain. The Maranello stable excelled in the times on Thursday with Carlos Sainz, and on Friday with Charles Leclerc, giving the impression of having definitely improved on the race pace as well. In addition, the Cavallino cars are the ones that have covered the most miles: a positive three days also promoted by Vasseur himself in the post-test press conference.
Vasseur: "Leclerc and Sainz are satisfied"
"We come out of this test satisfied with the work done, both in terms of the mileage covered, and the resulting amount of data collected, and from the point of view of Charles and Carlos’ satisfaction. It was three productive days and free of hiccups, which è what è you first want from testing, especially when è the ’only one before the season".
"SF-24 sincere and constant"
"Our first intention was to get a SF-24 that was sincere in its behaviors, insensitive to changing external conditions and that was easy to drive. Listening to the comments of Charles and Carlos and looking at their performance in the long runs, it seems that we succeeded in achieving this goal: è a very important starting point, becauseé it allows the driver to quickly learn the characteristics of the single-seater and thus make the most of its potential".
Vasseur and hidden rivals: "The real values will be seen in the race"
The rivals have all gone into hiding, starting with Max Verstappen himself: "To see the real values in the field, all that remains is to give us a date in exactly one week’s time, with the first qualifying of the season. I feel però to say that, looking exclusively at ourselves, we are off to a good start. I expect that the various top teams will be very close to each other and I look forward to checking the value of our package in relation to the opponents".
