Paola Egonu leads the'Allianz Vero Volley Milan against Rome
Another round other race for Allianz Vero Volley Milan expected the day after tomorrow, Sunday, March 3, at 12:00 p.m. (live Volleyballworld.tv) in the friendly walls of the Opiquad Arena, for the ninth day of return of the Tigotà Series A1 championship. The first pink team of the Consortium aims to continue the positive trend shown in the previous matches that saw the girls of coach Gaspari victorious against Pinerolo in away matches, but especially in the double CEV Champions League challenge against Łódź that gave the Consortium and its fans, the first historic semifinal of the highest continental competition.
Orro and her teammates aim to win the three points, useful to consolidate the second position in the standings behind Conegliano. Gaspari’s team wants again to express with continuity the sparkling and fun game put on display often this season and avoid the small blackouts seen in the last round of the championship against Pinerolo.
There are only two precedents: the one in the first round of the current season in which the Milanese won with a net 0-3 at the Pala Tiziano, and the 3-0 home win at the Allianz Cloud in the Italian Cup Quarterfinals, where the meneghine imposed their law in just over an hour of play.
From a statistical point of view, Milan will be able to count on the solid reception of Dominican libero Brenda Castillo, currently ranked first among the "top receivers" in the league with an excellent 47.80% perfect receptions.
Milan also leads the ranking of "best spikers" thanks to Paola Egonu, alone at the top with 429, but tailed by Novara’s Russian Akimova, only 4 lengths behind, with 425 balls put on the ground and Scandicci’s Ekaterina Antropova, third with 377 points scored. Turning to Rome, again looking at the stats, the Capitoline girls will rely on Albanian opposite Erblira Bici, currently ranked fourth among the top scorers in the top league with 369 points.

The Capitoline women are in an excellent moment of form, coming from four consecutive victories against – in the order -, Florence, Bergamo, Pinerolo and last Casalmaggiore at PalaTiziano. Rome over the summer had rebuilt its “look” after the triumphant recapture of the A1 Series. Several stars of the promotion such as Bechis, Melli, Bici and Ciarrocchi, along with coach Cuccarini, are finding space in the top national category. The first notable incoming name è was that of Brazilian center Ana Beatriz, who was joined by young Cuban Madan and U.S. slapper Schwan.
