For Jasmine Paolini, fresh winner of her first 1000 in Dubai by beating Russian Anna Kalinskaya in the final, after a bye in the first round as the number 13 seed, in the second she will have; the winner between German Tatjana Male Maria and the’olandee Arantxa Rus, but in the third she could have Kalinskaya again, with whom, before her Dubai success, she lost in the round of 16 at the Australian Open and then, if she makes it through, in the round of 16 she would most likely have Russian-Kazakh Elena Rybakina, world No. 4.

Immediately difficult matches for the other Azzurri: Camila Giorgi will have; Britain’s Katie Boulter, fresh winner of the San Diego WTA 500, Elisabetta Cocciaretto will be; against Peyton Stearns of the U.S. and then possibly the winner of the’Australian Open, Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka, Martina Trevisan against France’s Diane Parry and then possibly against Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, Lucia Bronzetti against Poland’s Magdalena Frech and then possibly Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina, if she wins again she will have the US’s Coco Gauff.

There’è curiosityà for two lapsed Slam champions like Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu: both in the first round will have a qualifier but then the Japanese might face Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova and the British’s Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska.

As for world No. 1, Poland’s Iga Swiatek, in her debut second round she could have the U.S. Danielle Collins and in the third possibly the young Czech Linda Noskova, who ousted her at the Australian Open.
