Max Verstappen speaks out about a possible future in Mercedes
Max Verstappen’s words ahead of the Saudi Arabian GP
Among the various drivers who spoke at the press conference presenting the Saudi Arabian GP was also Max Verstappen, who after winning the opening race of the new season will try to repeat himself at the Jeddah circuit as well. Among the various topics discussed, the Dutch driver also dwelt on market rumors related to his possible farewell to Red Bull in favor of Mercedes.
"I have heard many rumors regarding my future, but on my part there is a desire to have a quiet environment where everyone is happy to work. My intention è has always been to stay in Red Bull until the end of my contract, which is why we signed such a long-term agreement. Then there's always the performance aspect, and of course from 2026 onward the new regulations could change the balance, so that's something I took into consideration when I signed the extension. I am also aware of what the team has done for me, for my career and my intention è to stay here. I’m enjoying myself and I’m really happy" began the Dutch driver to the microphones of "Sky Sport F1".
"I don’t think anyone would have imagined Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. Beyond "F1, I think in life it is difficult to predict everything that will happen, what will happen around you and so" it can affect you. My approach to life è not to think much about what might happen, I am very relaxed and happy with the team. I see no reason to leave at the moment" continued the three-time rainbow winner.
"I don’t think it’s a matter of isolation, in Bahrain we saw that rumors don’t affect the team’s performance. Then è obviously it would be better not to hear anything like that, but we have shown that we are all focused on our work. I’m a driver, and I honestly don’t know what’s going on upstairs. I’m paid to drive the single-seater, and è that’s what I focus on" added Red Bull’s No. 1 regarding the Christian Horner case.
"I think anyone, even after arguments, can always clarify and resolve. We are adults and have a lot of respect for each other. I didn’t always agree with everything and everyone, and when è it happened è it was also good to discuss and clarify. I think it happens in any relationship" concluded Max Verstappen.
