Lucia Bronzetti in the second round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000

Soì as Camila Giorgi, also Lucia Bronzetti overcomes the first round of the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells thanks to a success in two sets: to fall under the blows of the athlete from Romagna è the Polish Magdalena Frech, defeated 6-2, 6-4 at the end of a match that lasted one hour and forty minutes of play.

Bronzetti managed to take control of the match from the very first bars, without the ten position difference in the world ranking (Frech è 43rd, the Italian occupies instead the box number 53) weighing on her performance: in the first set there were three games won on her opponent&#39s serve, and only one set point was enough to close it after just 36 minutes.

Bronzetti wasted two break points that would have taken her to 2-0, Frech fought back blow after blow, and there were no games won on her opponent’s serve until 4-5 for the Romagnola: the tenth game was the decisive one, although four match points were needed to close the score.

Lucia Bronzetti thus advances to the second round of the current event in California: the scoreboard now puts her in front of the number 32 seed in the tournament, the Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, who occupies in the WTA rankings the number 35 position and in Indian Wells was able to take advantage of the bye in the first round, thus starting directly from the next one.
