Fencing, Great Italy at European Paralympic Games: federal president’s assessment
Nearly 15 blue medals at European Paralympic fencing
In the aftermath of the conclusion of the Paralympic Fencing European Championships, there is great satisfaction on the part of the Federation for the 15 medals obtained in total by the Italian athletes engaged in Paris. Paolo Azzi, federal president, commented to the official channels of the FIS on what happened in the continental review, held in the same city that will host the Paralympic Games 2024.

"An extremely positive balance – said the president of the Italian Fencing Federation. We have equaled the number of medals of the last edition in Warsaw, and in these 15 podiums I like to emphasize that the two successes, both of Rossana Pasquino, came in specialtiesà that fall within the program of the Paralympic Games".
"Also important,” he added, “was the first silver in epee, which had been chasing this great result for a long time. Sorry for the retirement, opportune, of Bebe (Vio, ed.), who had the right caution not to take risks in perspective Paralympics. But the’excellent final result that emerges from this expedition è a testimony to the’excellent work done by our technicians and all the staff".
Final rush towards the Paralympic Games
