There are several papabili for the Lecce bench

.

The exoneration of Roberto D'Aversa after the events of Lecce-Hellas Verona means that the management of the Salento club must quickly reflect on the name to be entrusted with the bench at a sensitive moment of the season, with the team involved in the fight not to relegate. Among the papabili areseveral experienced technicians, some of whom have already been engaged elsewhere this season.

Gotti and Semplici, but not only

Among the favorites for the succession to D'Aversa are Luca Gotti and Leonardo Semplici, two coaches who have in common from last year's experience at Spezia: the former had started the season only to be exonerated in February, the latter had been chosen in his place by the management of the Ligurian club without, however, succeeding in leading him to salvation, which escaped in the play-off against Hellas.

Two other important names are those of Serse Cosmi, who knows the environment having already coached Lecce from December 2011 to June 2012 (at the time it was relegation to B, despite the efforts), and Massimo Oddo, who just in 2011/12 closed his playing career at Lecce. Oddo's last experience on the bench was in the last remnant of 2022/23, at Spal.

In addition to Oddo, three other 2006 world champions are papable

Also circulating then are the name of Fabio Cannavaro, eager to get back in the game after his last unsuccessful experience at Benevento, closed in February 2023, and that of Fabio Grosso, who after his exoneration at Lyon last November è looking for a bench on which to sit, returning to Italy.

There'è also the name of another 2006 world champion that teases the Giallorossi, that of Gennaro Gattuso: like Grosso, the former Milan player arrives from an unhappy experience in France, at Olympique Marseille, and could seize the Salento opportunity to raise his own quotations.
