Never had any Italian managed to extend a winning streak to 17 consecutive victories. Jannik has surpassed the longest winning streak for a compatriot of ours in men’s singles: the record belonged to Adriano Panatta, who strung together sixteen victories back in 1976, two years after winning the Davis Cup.

The differences between the two records

Panatta won sixteen matches between the Davis Cup match against Yugoslavia and the first round of the Nottingham tournament. Sinner’s ride è was spread over two years. It began with Davis Cup victories with Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands, with Serbia against Novak Djokovic and in the final with Australia against Alex De Minaur.

The ride è continued

In 2024, Sinner&#39s ride è continued with the seven wins that led him to his triumph in the Australian Open, where he put his first Slam title in his trophy cabinet, and the five in Rotterdam. Then came the two Indian Wells victories won over Kokkinakis and Struff.
