Red Bull, Helmut Marko grooms Daniel Ricciardo
The 2024 F1 season è started in the best way for Red Bull, as two one-two wins came in the first two rounds. However, during an interview with the microphones of "Speedweek", Austrian manager Helmut Marko focused on the performance of the Racing Bulls and its two drivers, namely Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo.
"C'è much is at stake this season for both Yuki and Daniel. Tsunoda’s performance in qualifying è was very good, but Ricciardo must come up with something as soon as possible. In the time attack Yuki è very good, but in the race he cannot find rhythm and ends up losing too many positions. We have to find out if these difficulties are dictated by the fact that the drivers are putting a strain on the tires or there are other reasons. We hope to find out as soon as possible" began the Austrian manager.
"We put a lot of emphasis on Lawson. Today the young drivers are all well prepared when they arrive, but only if someone è really good can achieve such results from the start as Liam did last year when he replaced Ricciardo" added the former driver regarding the possibility of giving the young New Zealand driver a seat ahead of next season.
In conclusion Helmut Marko è also dwelt on the performance of Oliver Bearman, who in his F1 debut with Ferrari scored an excellent seventh place: "To have raced on a track like Jeddah without having had much practice must have been very difficult. At times he drove almost at the same level as Leclerc. If I were Vasseur, I would immediately find a cockpit in another team for Bearman, I don't know, at Haas for example. He deserves a chance next year to showcase his talent".
