The Milan-Turin è by Alberto Bettiol

Alberto Bettiol won the 105th edition of the Milan-Turin. The Tuscan rider crossed the final finish line in Salassa after a solo run of more than 30 kilometers, preceding by seven seconds Swiss Jan Christen, bearer of the UAE Team Emirates, and by nine seconds his teammate, Marc Hirschi.

Bettiol breaks an Italian fast at Milan-Turin that lasted since 2015, when Diego Rosa imposed himself, and does so at the end of a splendid solo action, which started on the ramps of the Prascorsano climb when there were 30 km to the finish in Salassa. The Tuscan rider attacked after the forcing of one of his countrymen, Diego Ulissi, had reduced the leading group to only 15 unitsà. 45" the maximum gap in favor of Bettiol with the chasers who, under the push of Bora-Hansgrohe, had brought themselves back under 10" when there were less than 5 km to go to the finish.

The EF Education – EasyPost captain was able to grit his teeth, also taking advantage of the poor agreement behind him, managing to defend his lead and triumphing with 7" over Jan Christen and 9" over Marc Hirschi, winner of the sprint for third place ahead of another UAE Team Emirates rider, Diego Ulissi.
