Indian Wells, Jannik Sinner flies to semifinals
Jannik Sinner in semifinals
Jannik Sinner’s streak of consecutive wins stretches, still undefeated in this magical 2024. The South Tyrolean è qualified for the semifinals of the Indian Wells tournament, overwhelming the hapless Jiri Lehecka in just over an hour and a quarter of play.
Sinner, dominant so far in the tournament, placed already in the fourth game the first break that decided the opening set and from there he did not stop. Even in the second set he quickly snatched his service from his opponent, before a metal drop in the seventh game that nevertheless did not cost him dearly.
At 5-2 the world number three wasted the first two match points in response but on the next service round he had no problem closing the score. Saturday night he will face either Zverev or Alcaraz, the protagonists of the last quarterfinal on the night between Thursday and Friday.
