A critically important weekend for Italian fencing has just kicked off between Belgium and the United States, with 36 Italian athletes on the piste. The spotlight is on women’s saber. On Belgian soil, in fact, the World Cup test in which the definitive passes for the Paris 2024 Games will be awarded will be staged. They will try to join them, stepping onto the platform Friday, Giulia Amore, Erica Cipressa, Anna Cristino, Aurora Grandis, Camilla Mancini, Francesca Palumbo, Martina Sinigalia and Elena Tangherlini.

Men’s preliminaries on Saturday. Already qualified, being among the “top 16” in the world rankings, the Azzurri Tommaso Marini, Alessio Foconi and Filippo Macchi. On the piste from the group stage are Giorgio Avola, Guillaume Bianchi, Damiano Di Veroli, Davide Filippi, Daniele Garozzo, Francesco Ingargiola, Giulio Lombardi, Edoardo Luperi and Tommaso Martini.
