The words of Nenad Markovic

Coach Nenad Markovic presented the challenge against Brescia in a press conference: "Awaiting us" the most difficult of the last three matches: we face a great roster, a well-coached team that" has been first in the standings since the beginning of the season and won the Italian Cup last year. Intriguing challenge but we are in a good moment".

"Against Bologna was different,” he added, “they come from the break and the game two days before against Valencia, before the break we were a’different team. We played with great confidence in Venice in the wake of what we had done with Bologna. Brescia è the toughest not only because of the roster but becauseé given our two wins they will be even more ready to face us. They are aware that we beat Virtus and Reyer, let’s see what happens".

On the mental turnaround: "The coach canò do whatever he wants but if the players donè t follow him è impossible to win, if the guys believe in the work and believe in the system, mentally they will have an edge. Now the mutual esteem and trust that there’è between me and the players è something that canè make the difference to be a competitive team, everyone tries to do the best, to play the best they can, in harmony, with patience, working on the details. It should always be this way, but things don’t always go this way. The’approach to the group è fundamental".

The coach of the Sardinians does not look at the standings: "The most important match è always the one we play next, we face one challenge at a time without looking at the standings".

"The advantage of Brescia è having a deep roster and playing very physical, having players who cover others maybe less defensive. The’only recipe è to respond physically, to play hard for 40 minutes: now who comes off the bench keeps the level of the quintet, the most important thing è that now in 9-10 we play with the same intensity. Brescia runs, finds easy points, they go to rebound, they want to control the pace" concluded Markovic.
