È everything is ready for the 115th edition of the Milan-San Remo, the spring classic of world clclism and also the first of the five Monument Classics along with the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Giro di Lombardia.

For the first time they will start from Pavia and after 288 km they will arrive at the classic finish line in Via Roma. The participation cast è stellar: world champion Mathieu Van der Poel, who just tomorrow will kick off his road season after winning the cyclocross rainbow title in February, Tadej Pogacar, winner of Strade Bianche, Filippo Ganna, second last year.

But there will also be six riders who the Classicissima l’ve already won it, namely; Alexander Kristoff (2014), Arnaud Désea (2016), Michal Kwiatkowski (2017), Julian Alaphilippe (2019), Jasper Stuyven (2021) and Matej Mohoric (2022) Jonathan Milan, Cristophe Laporte, Jasper Philipsen, Mads Pedersen, Michael Matthews and Alberto Bettiol, the latter a solo winner of Milan-Turin, among others, will also be present.

As mentioned, it will start from Pavia, and after 44 km on the roads of the Oltrepò Pavese, passing through Stradella and Broni, it will resume the classic route in Casteggio. Obviously there will be the historic climbs, starting with the Passo del Turchino, and then, once on the Riviera di Ponente, it will continue with Capo Mele, Capo Cervo, Capo Berta, Cipressa, and finally, just over 5 km from the finish line, the Poggio di Sanremo, often and often decisive for the outcome of the race.
