Roger Federer, surprising words about a challenge with Jannik Sinner
Roger Federer in a recent interview on the sidelines of the Oscars evening dwelt on Jannik Sinner and joked about a possible challenge with the South Tyrolean tennis player, who recently won the Australian Open, his first career Slam. The former Swiss outfielder spared no praise for the Blue, joking about a possible confrontation between the two.
"Me playing with Sinner? Well right now it wouldn't be fair…. – he said laughing -. He è the great champion now. I would chase balls now… he is doing things great, I am very happy for him. What he did in Australia è was incredible", are the words reported by Sportskeeda denoting the usual great humilityà of King Roger.
Sinner has never hidden that he has always thought of Roger Federer as an idol, and he è often regretted that he was unable to face him in the finale of the Swiss’s legendary 20-Slam winning career.
The two champions are also very similar in attitude: "When I was younger, I think the biggest inspiration was always Roger Federer in the way he conducts himself on the court, the way he treats people off the court", Sinner had confessed in an interview.
