Miami: Camila Giorgi wins on debut and gives herself Iga Swiatek

Camila Giorgi gets off on the right foot at the Miami Open, the fourth WTA 1000 of the season, being played on the concrete courts of the'Hard Rock Stadium, in Florida. The tennis player from the Marche region, in fact, swept away Poland's Magdalena Frech, number 47 in the WTA ranking, in two quick sets (6-4 6-2) after an hour and 35 minutes of play.
Match downhill from the first bars for the Marche player, who snatched the serve from her opponent already in the third game and kept the break lead until the final 6-4. In the second set, the Italian delights, stringing five consecutive games from 0-1. Giorgi files the file on 6-2 at the second useful match point.
In the second round the 32-year-old from Macerata will face another Polish player, world number one Iga Swiatek, fresh winner of the Indian Wells WTA 1000.
