Haas, Kevin Magnussen shuts the door on Oliver Bearman for a "starting"

position.

Oliver Bearman’s beautiful seventh-place contanto debut in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix two weeks ago behind the wheel of Ferrari definitely impressed the Formula 1 Circus.

The very young Briton è the third driver of the Maranello manufacturer but also of Haas, and on the eve of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne one of the U.S. team’s starting drivers, Kevin Magnussen, is not afraid of being replaced by Bearman while complimenting him on how he è behaved in Jeddah. Here are his words in the eve press conference, reported by formulapassion.co.uk.

“Nico (Hulkenberg, ed.) è a very capable teammate. And I think there is a’very good dynamic in the team. We are working very well together. And I think for the path we are taking as a team it is useful to have experienced drivers, but obviously this è a dynamic out of my control. I think we just have to make the most of what we have right now with the two drivers and the car, which I think is going well“.

“I think the transition into a race weekend with a great team like Ferrari must be very stressful. I think it was a’fantastic opportunity for him: he made his debut on such aì beautiful track with Ferrari. The race debut with the Rossa must be a very special feeling“.

“Would I like to have Bearman as a teammate? I can see where he is in his career and in his life. So I wish all the best for him, of course. I haven’t had any conversations with him. He was an integral part of Ferrari that weekend. È our reserve driver for the races where he will be doing FP1 this year, which is quite a few“.
