Red Bull, Max Verstappen è candid about possible future in Mercedes
During an interview given to the microphones of the official F1 website and Sky Sports UK, Max Verstappen, among the various topics covered, was frank about recent market rumors about his possible farewell to Red Bull in favor of Mercedes.
"I don’t know what will happen; after 2028. Whether he will stay in F1, whether he will continue, whether he will sign a new contract. It would be a good story, even for me personally, to stay until the end. It would mean that I was part of a family and a team. I have always felt comfortable here in Red Bull. For me è like a second family and as in all families è it is normal to have differences of opinion, forè we are all in the same boat and our main interest è to prove our potential in every race" began the Dutch driver.
"If I had to worry about any speculation I would also have to worry about whether he will beè still alive tomorrow. I talk to Horner and the people who work in the power unit department and there’è no reason to panic, we are not yet in 2026. We are competing with established engine manufacturers and it won’t be easy to beat them. But there are many very good people working on the project” continued the three-time world champion.
"Toto and I have had our difficult moments. It's normal when two teams fight for the World Championship until the end, but respect between us has è never lacked" added the Red Bull driver about the Mercedes team principal.
"As far as I know the Horner case è has been handled in the right way so far. It's important to keep the key figures of a team together becauseè è it is from them that the performance and success of the car" concluded Max Verstappen.
