Inter, three market alternatives to replace Acerbi
Inter, market
Acerbi’s situation and de Vrij’s declining performance have put Inter in a position to look for defense reinforcements. According to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, if the Italian defender were to leave the club in the summer and the Dutchman was not confirmed, Inter would target a top name capable of leading the department.
Among the names of most interest is Kim, the Korean defender formerly of Napoli paid 50 million euros only a year ago by Bayern Munich. The possibility of a loan cannot be ruled out, considering the relationship between Inter and the Bavarian club, as demonstrated by past transactions with Sommer and Pavard.
Another option è is Roma’s Chris Smalling, who has had a difficult season due to physical problems. With only one more year on his contract with the Giallorossi, Smalling could be a suitable choice for a three-man defense, but it will be necessary to evaluate his performance toward the end of the season before considering him a viable option for Inter. Finally, there'è's the option of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, currently at West Ham. While not a permanent starter, Mavropanos has experience in both three-man and four-man defenses.
