È it is certainly exciting to see Kei Nishikori’s name return to an ATP tournament main draw. After a period of absence due to several physical problems, including a hip surgery and an ankle injury, Nishikori has received a wild card for the Miami Open. 

Although he failed to win his debut match against Sebastian Ofner, this marks an important step in his return to official competition. At 34, Nishikori surely hopes to fully regain fitness and be able to participate regularly in tournaments in the near future. 

"I have never lost my love for tennis, I have great motivation to face the best in the world, especially the young people who are now at the top and against whom I have never played,” he told Florida. “I would love to face Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Today they are the players I enjoy the most watching them on television. My feeling è that tennis has changed a lot in a short time and this è due to what Carlos and Jannik" are doing.
