Marco Bezzecchi is relieved: “Definitely better than in Qatar.”
A complicated Sunday ended with a good result.
Marco Bezzecchi in Portimao takes a sixth place of great importance, taking into account the difficulties faced by the VR46 Racing Team in this start of the season in MotoGP. Also taking advantage of the problems of others (starting with the collision between Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez), the Romagnolo, in difficulty in the early stages of the race, recovered from 12th place thus signingì his best result of the season to date.
"We collected a lot of information, and this è the most important thing – commented Bezzecchi at the end of the day -. Today’s race was not è fantastic, but a definite step forward compared to Qatar. I managed to do some good laps, not at the level of the most ù strong, but the confidence with the bike è improved".
"The real problem,” Bezzecchi continued, “were the first few corners. I was not incisive, and it è immediately raised the pressure of the front tire. In those conditions è even more difficult, then with open road I was better and I did not close badly".
