Michela Moioli still on podium, Cup for Nations to Italy
Another podium finish, to give Italy the Cup for Nations.
Michela Moioli again on the podium. The Lombard woman ends the season with a second place in Mount St. Anne, preceded by Britain’s Charlotte Bankes. However, the result of the last race of the year does not move the World Cup standings. Nor does it do so for Italy, which won the Nations Cup for the second time in history with 4891 points, compared to Austria's 4804 and Japan's 4443.
For Michela Moioli this is her sixth podium finish of the season (fifth individual), including three victories. The national snowboard team, on the other hand, comes in at 33 podiums overall. Regarding the Mount St. Anne event, behind Bankes and the Italian were Josie Baff and Chloe Trespeusch, who won the specialty World Cup with 792 points, compared to Bankes’ 757 and Moioli's 704, which confirms third place in the overall standings.
"È it was an interesting weekend – said Michela Moioli -Yesterday I couldn't make it to the final, but today I managed to put it together, I was fierce and I wanted to stay on the podium in the overall. We did it, we did a good job. Too bad about the final, because I had some, but I knew Bankes was coming. It was a comeback season and I did not expect to make five podiums, including two wins and a third place in the overall. That's okay; I thank my team and everyone who puts up with me every day and I'll see you next year".
