Georgia reached a historic milestone by beating Greece 4-2 on penalties, after a hard-fought match that ended 0-0 even after extra time. It è then went to penalties: from the penalty spot decisive mistakes by Bakasetas and Giakoumakis.
This unprecedented result marked Georgia's first qualification to the final stage of the European Championship, a moment of pride and celebration for the former Soviet nation.
