The words of Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has decided to part ways with his historical coach Goran Ivanisevic. The world number one, reeling from a few too many disappointments in recent months, announced this choice with a touching post on social media, talking about finding new stimulation.

"I clearly remember the moment when I invited Goran to join my team. It was 2018, Marian (Vajda, former coach of the Serbian champion, ed.) and I were trying to innovate, to add some magic to the serve in our duo. We brought not only that, but also a lot of laughter, fun, seasons ended at No. 1 in the world, new records, 12 Slam titles (and a few more finals),” Djokovic commented, thanking the 2001 Wimbledon winner. Goran and I decided not to work together anymore a few days ago. Our chemistry on the court had its ups and downs, but our friendship è always been very solid. I am proud to say (I don’t know if the same applies to him), that in addition to winning tournaments for years we have had an ongoing battle in Parchisi. And this tournament will never end for us. Thanks for everything man. I love you".

Developments are expected on Djokovic’s staff front in the coming days, especially ahead of the clay court season, with Roland Garros as the main goal. With the 2024 Olympics set to take place right there, Djokovic è determined to win Olympic gold and will continue to prepare for this important event.
