Jannik Sinner frames the key factor in Italian tennis success
After gaining access to the semifinals by beating the Czech Machac and discovering his next opponent namely Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, among other topics discussed during a press conference, wanted to dwell on the Italian tennis movement, which in recent years has been churning out more and more talent, Matteo Arnaldi and Luca Nardi above all. On the topic, the South Tyrolean tried to identify the key factors that have allowed Italian tennis to have this steady growth.
"First of all, we have good facilities in Italy. We have very good coaches, physical trainers and physiotherapists. There are so many tournaments in our country: starting from Junior tournaments to Futures and Challengers. We also have some really important ATP tournaments for tennis players who manage to play them" debuted the South Tyrolean.
"You could stay all year in Italy and play tournaments all the time. So even players who don't like to travel can stay in Italy. They can go from tournament to tournament in the same country. I think this helps a lot. I preferred to get out of Italy a little bit to try to have a different view of tennis: this helps you grow. Potentially, forò you can stay in Italy and get to play one of the biggest tournaments in our sport" continued the Italian number one.
"We can consider ourselves very, very lucky to be Italian. I feel the’affection of people. There’è much more cheering than a year ago, but not only for me, è so’ for all Italians. We are glad, we try to give them a good emotion too, so è as we feel emotions every time we take the field. We say that è a team game" concluded Jannik Sinner.
