Miami, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in semifinals in doubles
Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani clinched the doubles semifinals in the Miami, Florida, Open. The Italian women tennis players clearly beat the Russian pair of Ekaterina Alexandrova and Irina Khromacheva in the quarters with a 6-2 doubles win. They will now have to take on Americans Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
The two singles semifinals, on the other hand, will see Alexandrova herself, a surprise winner over Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, and the U.S. Danielle Collins facing each other in the one at the top of the scoreboard, while the one at the bottom, which will be played tonight and followed by the other on the Italian night, will feature Russian-born Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka.
