Jannik Sinner, lunch with Holger Rune
Monte Carlo, the program
A year after their epic semifinal showdown, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune are preparing for a new confrontation this time in the quarterfinals of the prestigious Monte Carlo tournament. The match, scheduled for today, Friday, April 12, will not start until 1 p.m. and will be the second on the schedule after Tsitsipas-Khachanov.
Rune currently leads 2-1 in the head-to-head clashes with Sinner, with two consecutive wins in 2022 and 2023 but Sinner è won in the last precedent at the 2023 Finals in Turin. A win would guarantee the South Tyrolean the world number two, taking advantage of Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawal.
After the match between Sinner and Rune, the other quarterfinals will also be played later in the day: not before 2:20 p.m. Djokovic will take on De Minaur. Last match on the schedule, not before 3:40 p.m., that between Casper Ruud and Frenchman Humbert.
