Jannik Sinner makes an'admission after victory over Khachanov

Jannik Sinner made a satisfied analysis of his victory over Karen Khachanov in the round of 16 of the Madrid Masters 1000. The South Tyrolean è was in doubt until the very last because of the hip problem he suffered in Monday’s match against Kotov, but after a complicated start to the match he found more and more positive responses from his body and closed with a great finish.

" It was very tough, Khachanov played very well. In the first set I made a few too many mistakes, but I regained my concentration at the beginning of the second. I also struggled at the beginning of the third, then I served well. I am happy, let&#39s see what will happen in the next round".

"I played so many matches in 2024, it can happen to have pain – continued the Blue – I know it can happen in my mind, I chose at the last to play. It had already happened early in my career to overcome these situations, but I was physically almost 100 percent today".

"I knew I had the day off after today,” Jannik confided, “so I was more relieved. I felt better, when I can play I do. I was struggling; I raised my level and I am happy. Even though I was not 100 percent"
