Underachievement

At the Volvo China Open in Shenzhen, Guido Migliozzi almost pulled off a feat, placing just behind Adrian Otaegui, who won with 198 strokes (-18).

The tournament, part of the DP World Tour and reduced to 54 holes due to bad weather, saw twists and turns in the last 18 holes. On the course at Hidden Grace Golf Club (par 72), Migliozzi, who started from third, took the lead on the 16th hole, a par 3, thanks to his fifth birdie of the day.

A bogey at hole 17 cost him dearly but for Migliozzi this è was the best performance of 2024, followed by placings in Dubai and Singapore.

Otaegui earned $382,500, while Migliozzi grossed $247,500, greatly improving his position in the Race to Dubai, where Manassero è placed 14th.
