Olimpia Milan: record with Trento is encouraging

This season, three wins out of three for the Milanese

The LBA playoffs begin this weekend. Olimpia Milano, in the first round of the post season, will face Trento. The first act of the series (best of five games) è scheduled, at the Forum, on Sunday, May 12 with the ball at two starting at 18:00.

In the regular season, Olimpia Milano has always won against Trento: three games and three white-and-red successes. This will be, instead, the fifth challenge in the playoffs between the two teams. Again, the precedents smile on the AX, which has won three of the four series played against Trento.

In 2016 Olimpia won 3-0 in the quarterfinals on the way to the scudetto with a decisive basket in Game 3 by Alessandro Gentile; in 2017 Trento won 4-1 in the semifinals (then was beaten by Venice in the final 4-2); in 2018 Olimpia won 4-2 in the scudetto final, resolved on the road; in 2021 Milan always won 3-0.

Given the bitter elimination from the Euroleague at the end of the regular season and no trophy in the trophy case at this point of the season, for coach Messina's team it is vital to succeed in bringing home the Scudetto. The journey begins Sunday with Trento. Favorable precedents aside, no distractions are allowed in the Olimpia household.
