MotoGp, Ducati: Pecco Bagnaia sheds light on last lap
Pecco Bagnaia: "Martin and Marquez had moreù"
After the disappointment of a Saturday marked by the withdrawal in the Sprint Race, Pecco Bagnaia found his smile again in the French GP, although he finished third in the MotoGp race won by Jorge Martin ahead of Marc Marquez, with the latter able to take away the second place just from Bagnaia in the last stages of the race.
"First of all I am happy to have made it to the finish, I had not been able to do it for two years – explained Bagnaia to 'Sky Sport' – Today I tried, I gave everything trying to manage the start and the first laps. I fought until the end but Martin and Marquez had more at the end. Let’s think about next weekend, I hope it goes overall better".
Bagnaia went on to explain what è went wrong, from his point of view, on the last lap, which started just a tenth behind only Martin and closed behind the latter and Marquez: "My intention was to stay glued to Martin and try at Turn 13, but Marquez braked harder than me at Turn 9, è was more incisive. I was no longer able to throw myself back in".
"Definitely è missed yesterday’s Sprint to evaluate the behavior of the tires – added the two-time world champion in the premier class -. I think they had more at the end also for this reason. Not è a problem, we will still work to improve and get to the next events più strong than ever".
