The words of Paolo Lorenzi

Speaking on this week’s episode of the podcast 'The Sit-Down' as the new tournament director of Rome, Paolo Lorenzi spoke about Jannik Sinner and the impact the South Tyrolean’s success is having in Italy.

"Everyone in Italy is watching Sinner. A Jannik Sinner match è like a soccer match in Italy,” the former tennis player pointed out, “and this has hardly ever happened in the last 30 years. When Sinner plays, there's live scoring and every piece of information, on every news site in Italy, online"

"Everyone is talking about Sinner. If you walk down the street, they talk about the fact that Sinner is not yet number 1 and how many points he needs to become number 1. I think Sinner right now may be better than soccer. Becauseé I think right now he is the most famous sportsman in Italy; è like (Alberto) Tomba a few years ago, or Valentino Rossi".

"When he was already 16, 17 years old, the intensity he put on the field was incredible. He was so focused. È that’s why now he will beà the next number 1 in the world" concluded Lorenzi.
