MotoGp, Ducati: Jorge Martin exposes himself on rivalry with Pecco Bagnaia
Jorge Martin is not hiding
With successes in two Grand Prix and three Sprint Races in the first five weekends of the MotoGp season, Jorge Martin has stretched the distance on his rivals in the standings, first and foremost Pecco Bagnaia, who trails him by 38 points. The performance of 'Martinator' has certainly not gone unnoticed by the top management of Ducati, but about the Spaniard's future options there's still reservation.
Martin and Bagnaia know each other very well and the Pramac rider himself, in an interview to 'Sky Sport', admitted that he aspires to the factory team: "My dream è that – he said -. In Pramac I feel great but I think the cycle must come to an end, allowing me to look ahead. The factory team è my dream".
The current World Championship leader is not afraid of the comparison with Pecco Bagnaia: "We have a very good relationship and there'è great respect – Martin stressed -. We have known each other since the Moto3 days although back then it was more of a game, but we have always been very close friends. Now the rivalry'è there'è but also mutual admiration".
Decisions in 2025 should be made in the summer: "Pressure? No, for me there isn't; – said Martin -, I had pressure at the time when I was a rookie and I did not know if the next year I would ride a motorcycle. Now I have to think about racing as hard as I can and fight for the title".
